The Cape

This coming-of-age movie, features the adventure of Stanley, a precocious 12-year-old boy from “small-town, USA”. He is a budding magician, and while looking for magic props in an old, creepy store, he finds a magicians’ theatrical Cape hidden in an old suitcase. It’s old, but beautiful to Stanley.

The first time he touches it, he gets a spark, as the Cape “bonds” with him. It’s the lost cape of the Great Houdini. Created by the brilliant, Nikola Tesla, and it gives Stanley a few special magical powers, like the ability to fly on the electro-magnetic waves that cover the Earth. It’s 1958, and it’s a world of rock’n roll, black-and-white TVs, movie stars… and a growing presence of foreign Evil.
The innocent boy-magician soon finds himself, his mother and friends, in the middle of a fight for survival from bloodthirsty, ruthless mercenaries. They arrive in his little town, ready to kill to possess the Cape. Stanley escapes and goes on the run. His mother brings in help, while Stanley tries to hide and save the Cape.

Eventually, a there is a show-down with the Bad Guys, the FBI, the town’s people, and Stanley. The Cape proves to be extra-special, saving his life. It’s a roller-coaster ride, a thriller, a story about the power of magic, a young boy, his Cape and the power of friendship.
